Mr Gordon Anderson was educated at Llanelli Boys Grammar School, Llanelli and Swansea Technical Colleges, and at the University of Wales where he completed his Masters Degree in 1990.

Mr Anderson’s career began with a Technical Apprenticeship at the Steel Company of Wales, followed by a number of posts in Production Management before he switched to a career in the public sector before finally retiring in 2002 as a Chief Officer with an Inner London Borough.

His role within the University is as Lay Member of Council. He is also the representative on the Court of Llanelli Chamber of Commerce.

Mr Anderson’s other voluntary roles include a Trusteeship of the Children's Charity "Buttle for Children and Young People". In addition, he is Chair Designate of Arthritis Care UK, a National Charity for people suffering or affected by one of over 100 types of Arthritis. Within his local community, he chairs the Village Hall committee.

Mr Anderson’s leisure time is committed to his family and particularly his two grandchildren. The family enjoy their holiday home in West Wales at weekends and, with luck, Mr Anderson can still find time to tour in the UK and France on his motorbike.
