About

Zhe joined the Department of Accounting and Finance, in Swansea University School of Management as a Lecturer in Finance (Research focused) in January 2021 after completing a PhD in Finance at the University of Birmingham. Prior to his PhD study, Zhe graduated from Warwick Business School in major of Business Finance and Accounting (MSc) in 2016. Zhe also holds a Bachelor of Economics in Finance from the South China University of Technology.

Zhe’s current and past teaching portfolios cover a wide range of modules in Finance at UG and MSc levels, including Finance for Business, Theory of Financial Management, and Portfolio Theory and Investment Analysis, etc.

MN–1501 Finance for Business

This module provides students with an understanding of the structure and functions of financial systems, and introduces them to quantitative techniques used in investment and financial decision making at a basic level and is aimed at non-specialists.

Research

Recently, Zhe has been investigating the influence of top management team members’ financial and accounting expertise on firms’ capital allocation efficiency, corporate governance practices, and non-financial policies. Zhe’s research work has been presented at the top finance conferences such as the 2019 Financial Management Association (FMA) Annual Meeting, the 28th European Financial Management Association (EFMA) Annual Conference, and 2018 Paris Financial Management Conference.
