Dr Martin Porcheron is a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and member of FIT Lab. His research is in the areas of human-computer interaction and computer-supported cooperative work and his recent work focuses on the user experience of interactive “AI” systems—from voice interfaces through to robot interfaces.
His work has been published in leading HCI venues including ACM CHI and CSCW. He was a Papers Chair for the inaugural international Conversational User Interfaces conference, and continues to serve on the conference steering committee. In 2019, he co-organised of the Halfway to the Future symposium, which involved over 180 attendees exploring the past, present and future of HCI work.
Prior to joining Swansea University, Martin was a Research Fellow at the University of Nottingham.
