Dr Kym Thorne is a Senior Research Officer at Swansea Trials Unit (STU) which is based in the Swansea University Medical School.

She is responsible for the management of high-profile clinical trials managed by STU in her role as Senior Trials Manager. Kym has worked in research since 1999 with her first role based in the Welsh Blood Service investigating haemochromatosis. Since then she has progressed into health services research at Swansea University and has applied her clinical trial management skills to a range of specialties including gastroenterology, cancer, diabetes, trauma and dermatology.
