  • PM-273 Advances in Toxicology: Pick Your Poison

    BSc Medical Pharmacology module, follow on from PM-147 Introduction to Toxicology. This module will provide students with the opportunity to expand their toxicology knowledge and apply it to analytical experience. This module will encompass medical toxicology, applied toxicology, and clinical poison information. Content will be analytical, forensic and clinical toxicology.

  • PMC102 Chemical Analysis: from Composition to Structure Elucidation; an Introduction for Life Sciences.

    This module deals with the principles and practice of analytical chemistry and gives an introduction to a number of important instrumental techniques in analytical chemistry for both quantitative and qualitative analysis and structure elucidation.

  • PMLM00 Mass Spectrometry - basics and fundamentals

    This module will enable students to gain a sound knowledgebase of the basic concepts of mass spectrometry including the individual components, linking to modern separation techniques, instrument maintenance, spectral interpretation, and the basis of modern applications such as, compound identification by generating a characteristic mass `fingerprint┬┐ for the chemical structure and compound quantitation.

  • PMLM03 LC/MS Applications II: Pharmaceutical

    This is an applications driven module designed to provide the student with an extensive knowledgebase of drug development and the role of mass spectrometry within the pharmaceutical industry. Students will be able to characterize and map the path of a drug from administration, to metabolism and elimination, and critically evaluate drug design.

  • PMZM00A A general introduction to small molecule mass spectrometry

    This module will enable students to gain knowledge of the basic concepts of small molecule mass spectrometry including typical instrumentation, linking to modern separation techniques, principles of valid analytical measurement and instrument maintenance, spectral interpretation, and the basis of modern applications such as, compound identification by generating a characteristic mass `fingerprint┬┐ for the chemical structure and compound quantitation.
