About

Lydia’s research focuses on the development of tumour tropic bacteria to target tumour cell metabolism. Having worked at Cambridge University investigating the underlying genetics regulating reproductive immunology and placental implantation in early pregnancy, Lydia is now focusing her genetics and molecular biology expertise on manipulating bacteria to disrupt cancer cell metabolism. Bringing a breadth of practical experience from her time in Cambridge and in a histopathology lab in Oxford, Lydia provides technical assistance and lab management for other users of the microbiology unit in the medical school. She also facilitates several undergraduate practical teaching sessions.
