Dr Filiz Celik is a Tutor of Psychology in the School of Psychology, Swansea University. She is also UKCP accredited Systemic and Family Psychotherapist and divides her time working as a tutor at the university and as a Highly Specialist Psychotherapist for a Health Board.

She has previously researched the effects and transmissions of intergenerational/transgenerational psychological trauma of human-made disasters. Political psychology, construction of minoritized and marginalised identities through psychological trauma are amongst her research interests. Her current research focus includes the impact of adverse life events and psychological trauma on mental well-being.  In her person centred and systemic approach her clinical and research interests are in removing mental health disparities, resilience building, adversity activated development (ADD) in perinatal and young peoples mental health contexts.
