About

Simon is an Associate Professor of Pharmacy at the Swansea University Medical School. He is the clinical, prescribing and placements lead.

He qualified as a pharmacist in 1999 following a pre-registration year in community pharmacy. He then managed a busy community pharmacy, before beginning a career in academia, initially as a teacher practitioner pharmacist.

Before coming to Swansea University, Simon held a diverse portfolio of educational and leadership posts, encompassing the higher education, NHS and Welsh Government sectors. He has nearly 20 years of teaching experience, including a decade in senior management positions, and is actively involved in the pedagogic research, design and delivery of both face-to face and online education programmes for undergraduates and postgraduates across the healthcare and science professions.

Away from work and study, Simon’s main passions involve being active through sports and travel. He has run nearly 100 half-marathons and marathons across Europe and North America and also enjoys mountain biking and rowing.
