About

Sara Morris is a lecturer in adult nursing at the St David’s Park campus in Carmarthen. Sara’s current roles include: Programme lead for the PG Certificate in blood components transfusion and Nursing disability co-ordinator

Sara is an NMC registered adult nurse, child nurse and teacher. She is an acute care nurse and has worked in a variety of settings including emergency care, trauma and as a practitioner. Her specialist clinical areas of interest include acute assessment, health assessment, and clinical reasoning.

Sara joined Swansea University after a varied career in both the NHS and Higher Education in England. She has worked at the University of Sheffield where she developed a faculty wide approach to advanced practice, redesigned and developing four new MSc pathways (Child, Neonatal, General practice & Apprenticeship routes).

Sara has also worked at Keele University where she was instrumental in developing a clinical reasoning strategy for pre-registration students and developing Keele’s first graduate entry MSc Nursing programme.

Teaching Interests

Sara has expertise in teaching across undergraduate and post graduate taught programmes. She is an experienced dissertation supervisor.

Sara’s educational practice is rooted in pedagogy with particular interests in active approaches to learning. Sara has expertise in designing curricula, enquiry based learning, and flipped learning.

Sara is available as mentor and assessor for SFHEA for both the written and oral routes.

Sara has successfully worked with NHS partners to design and deliver bespoke programmes to address workforce needs.
