About

I have worked at the CHHS since 2005, taking on a variety of academic and management posts including senior lecturer in nursing, programme director for the BSc Health and Social Care, Associate Head of Innovation and Engagement and now Director of the Health and Wellbeing Academy. I am also a member of the CHHS Executive team.  I am a registered nurse with extensive experience as a clinical leader and in executive leadership roles at Board level within Higher Education and the NHS.

I Hold a Masters in Healthcare Management and Prince 2 Project management qualification. I am passionate about developing the Health and Wellbeing Academy as a centre for excellence in all of the 3 strands of activity, Learning & teaching, innovative service delivery and research.

Research

As Director of the HWA it is my job to support  collaborative research across the college and with external stakeholders

The HWA is involved in developing and supporting academics to undertake wellbeing research related to physical health problems in cardiology, audiology, respiratory and sleep medicine, midwifery and wound care.

HWA is also leading the way in the development of new psychological approaches to supporting wellbeing in areas such as brain injury rehabilitation, management of chronic physical ill health and the effects of this on mental health.
