Mr David Clarke was born in Kitwe, Zambia as his parents were ex-patriots working on the copper minds there. He then moved to Zimbabwe as a child where he attended a private Jesuit College. David represented Zimbabwe at rugby and then at 19 came across to Sheffield, UK, where he worked for two years.David returned to Zimbabwe to represent the national 7 a side team. Unfortunately, David was then involved in a motor accident which halted his career. David worked in construction until his mid 20's when he decided to train as an osteopath. David completed his studies at the College of Osteopaths in London.

David Clarke is currently working on a Friday morning as a tutor in the College's on-site osteopathic clinic. He helps students gain the knowledge and confidence to become safe, competent osteopaths.

In terms of research, David is interested in Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and the management of symptoms.

Having played top level rugby for many years, David had had niggling back pain for many years which all physios he saw could not resolve. He passed an osteopathic practice in Crystal Palace and saw they treated back pain. David booked an appointment and the pain that he had for years was resolved! This is what started David's interest in becoming an osteopath.

David believes that the best thing about his job is that you get different challenges on a daily basis. It is never mundane.
