About

Chris Jobling is the Portfolio Director for Electronic and Electrical Engineering in the College of Engineering.

He is also a Chartered Engineer and Member of the Institution of Engineering Technology (IET). As a volunteer with the IET,  he acts as Student Advisor for the IET at Swansea University; is Secretary of the Wales South West Local Community Committee, and is an Accreditor of Higher Education Institutions.

Teaching Interests

Dr Jobling teaches EG-247/EG-3068 Signals and Systems teaches and EGLM03 Modern Control Systems. He is the module coordinator and contributes to on the EG-151 Microcontrollers Module, and contributes to the supervision of the EG-252 Group Design Exercise. 

He also has extensive experience of Web Technologies, Programming and Software Engineering. 

Research

In the late 1980s up to the end of 1990s, Dr Jobling was involved in the research and development of Computer-Aided Control Systems Design (CACSD) systems. He is an expert in MATLAB and Simulink, which are the modern incarnation of these tools.

He is a member of the Learning and Teaching Enhancement Centre and his main research interests are in the field of Technology Enhanced Learning.
