His published work on Lawrence includes editing three volumes in the Cambridge Edition of Lawrence’s complete works: Introductions and Reviews (2005), The Vicar’s Garden and Other Stories (2008), and Quetzalcoatl (2011). He has also written Reading Late Lawrence (Palgrave, 2003), and numerous essays and articles on Lawrence in The Cambridge Quarterly, The Journal of D. H. Lawrence Studies, and Etudes Lawrenciennes. His edited collection on Henry James, The Shorter Fiction: Reassessments, was published by Macmillan in 1997, and he is currently editing The Jolly Corner and Other Stories for the new Cambridge Edition of Henry James’s complete fiction. Elizabeth Taylor, for the British Council Writers and their Work series, came out in 2008, and a collection of essays co-edited with Rod Mengham, The Fiction of the 1940s: Stories of Survival, from Palgrave in 2001. A new volume to celebrate Elizabeth Taylor’s centenary is due in 2012. Other work on the mid-C20th period includes The Novels of Rex Warner (Macmillan, 1989), and an edition of Arthur Gwynn-Browne’s FSP (Seren, 2004). With Richard Kerridge, he wrote Nearly Too Much: The Poetry of J. H. Prynne (Liverpool University Press, 1996).

Neil Reeve was awarded an AHRC grant for research leave in 2002-3, an Andrew Mellon Fellowship at the Harry Ransom Research Centre, University of Texas at Austin, in 2008, and a grant for work at the McFarlin Library, University of Tulsa, in 2003.
