In September 2017 I joined the teaching staff of the Welsh Department in Swansea University, having previously completed seven years of study as a student in the Department. I completed a BA degree in Welsh in 2014 and then a Ph.D. in Welsh in 2019. My Ph.D. explored how best Welsh as a second language can be supported in being implemented successfully in the context of English-medium schools. As a lecturer in Welsh, I am primarily responsible for teaching a number of language modules for second language students, but I also convene and contribute to a number of other modules in the field of Welsh language, Welsh education, applied linguistics and language planning. Amongst my research interests are: Welsh Second Language; second language acquisition; language and education policy in Wales; second language testing and assessment; bilingualism and bilingual education and language planning.
