One of the largest, oldest and most successful clubs at Swansea University, SURFC is a cornerstone of Swansea University.

We have 6 Teams competing on a weekly basis in BUCS and Swansea and District league. We are also the founders and main event at the big Welsh Varsity that takes place at the end of the academic year.

SURFC is one of the largest and most successful clubs on campus. We have five teams competing in BUCS fixtures on a Wednesday with our first team competing in the BUCS Super Rugby and one team competing on a weekend in the Swansea and District league.

We also take part in our annual Varsity vs C*rdiff Uni; a whole day of sports competitions leading to the rugby match at the Millennium Stadium or Liberty Stadium.

Due to our size we can accommodate players of all standards. Players in the 1st XV may have semi-pro contracts, academy contracts, or could be aspiring pro players, whereas others in the club could be picking up a ball for the first time! We will accommodate everyone through our inclusivity.

Training in the 1st semester will take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays on the Rugby pitches at the Sports Village. Once you join our club you will be able to book into these day time sessions that will be run throughout semester 1.

In semester 2 our vision is to embed our teams and move to evening training – Monday and Tuesday Evenings at Sketty Lane followed by Game day Wednesday.

If you are interested in starting or if you have previous experience join our social media pages (links below) and register for training.

You can register for the club on the official Student Union website.
