Swansea University Mountaineering Club comprises all things climbing and exploring related, whether that’s climbing sea cliffs around Gower to exploring the different sceneries Wales has to offer. We welcome people of all abilities, from beginner to experienced. If you’re looking for a place to learn how to climb, you’ve found the right club!

During the year, we usually take weekend and weekday trips to different places around Wales, from Pembrokeshire to Snowdonia.

We try to get out as much as possible when the weather’s nice, but if not, we also host weekly climbing sessions indoors, whether that’s rope climbing or bouldering. We also host weekend trips.

Being a social club, we try to get involved in as many local competitions as possible, as well as attending the national university competition BUCS in Sheffield.

Under a normal calendar, we try to host as many socials as possible, alcoholic and non, where you can get to know everyone and have a great time!

For more information about the committee and club head on over to our SUMC website.
