We are Swansea University Karate Club, a club that is proud to be inclusive and encouraging to people of all abilities.
Our sessions cater to a range of people and no matter what you want to gain from joining, there will be something for you!
We cover sparring (kumite), patterns (kata), self-defence and pad work. Sparring is semi-contact and we never pressure people into doing it if they are uncomfortable. However, it is a lot of fun and those who try it always enjoy it!
We have a strong history of success at competitions, and when they return, we hope to carry it on! For people who have never competed before and want to compete, our experienced coaches and we will support you! If you don’t fancy the intensity of competitions, our sessions are a great way of keeping fit and meeting new people!
This year, we are happy to announce that we will continue training under covid-safe conditions. Our training slot is from 7pm-8pm in the university sports hall. For newcomers, the first session is free of charge, and after that, we charge £3.50 an hour, or £40 for the term. Membership also costs £10 for the year. To register, go to our page on the SU website!
