Mens hockey 4th team starts season strong
The start of the 2018/19 hockey season has seen the integration and development of Freshers into our Men’s 4th XI. With many of the senior players graduating last year, the captain, Qiellor Haxhiraj, has had the challenging task of introducing Freshers into his team and getting the team gelling from the get to go.
Much to his credit however, his team have put together some strong performances and produced some excellent results. Four games into the season, “Chilli’s” boys find themselves half way up the table with 6 points from a possible 12. Impressive victories against UWE and Bristol have left the 4s with a strong goal difference.
Going forward into the second half of the season, the boys will look to push on and move up the table towards the top.
Captain, Qiellor, has had this to say about his side’s season thus far, 'We've had a promising start to the season, building on the 1 win we had the entirety of last year to win 3/5 games so far. The team enjoys playing with each other and there's a great atmosphere about with the entirety of the team coming to socials and the majority going on tour. Hopefully we can win a few more games this season and get some revenge on Royal Ag and maybe have a bit of a cup run.’
