Congratulations to Dr John Plessis who gained a Distinction in his MSc Computer Science and received an award for Best Performance by a Student at Swansea University's Winter Graduation in January 2018

John was thrilled with the award and said: "I cannot overemphasise just how much this year has meant to me – particularly as a mature student.  It is a year upon which I shall look back with great affection.  This is due in large part to the outstanding staff in the Computer Science Department.  I have no doubt that you must be very proud of your colleagues and their excellent achievements – especially as the Computational Foundry now takes their fine academic and teaching achievements to the next level.

On a personal note, I would particularly like to commend Dr Oliver Kullmann, Professor Markus Roggenbach and Dr Anton Setzer, as they have done much to further my academic knowledge through well-researched lesson planning, interactive teaching and enthusiastic delivery.  I am also very grateful to Dr Ulrich Berger for offering me the opportunity to give a seminar – it was an invaluable learning experience.  It would be entirely remiss for me not to acknowledge their significant and long lasting role in my achievements over the Academic Year 2016/2017.

Once again, my deepest thanks to you and your colleagues for all that you have done for me."
