The housing and homelessness experiences of central and east European migrant workers

Since 2004, increasing numbers of East European migrant workers and their families have become eligible for statutory homelessness and housing support but there is limited understanding of homeless experiences amongst this population group and the extent to which housing services are being used. Professor Heaven Crawley has been working with Shelter Cymru to provide empirical evidence of housing issues and homelessness amongst central and east European migrant workers living in Walesa. The research also aims to increase awareness of homelessness as an issue amongst migrant workers and highlight the implications for policy and local service delivery at both Wales and UK level. An executive summary of the findings of the research can be found here.
