The ARCS team extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for our showcase last week!
We hope you enjoyed the event and forged valuable new connections. Your effort and time spent traveling from across South-West Wales is truly appreciated and we hope to catch up with you all in the near future.
A quick recap...
What better way to start an event than with a networking lunch, supplied by Bao Selecta from Cardiff!
Session One kicked off with an introduction to ARCS by Professor Gavin Bunting, highlighting some of the successful collaborations between ARCS and nearly 30 businesses over the past year.
Next up, we played a brief video featuring some of the incredible businesses we've collaborated with throughout the year - stay tuned on our socials - before holding two fireside chats with Lux Biotech and Fynnon Community Resilience to discuss the projects in more depth.
In Session Two we had the pleasure of hearing from keynote speaker Andy Middleton, Founder of Do Lectures, with a passionate talk about the need for change and reimagining our futures. Andy set the tone for ambitious conversations to follow, in an interactive workshop with Dilyana – where attendees discussed leveraging diverse networks for impact and discovered new connections and collaborations.
The final session focused on funding and policy, with a talk by Sarah Canning, Circular Economy Policy Lead at Welsh Government, who discussed why circular economy is so important to the government across all sectors, emerging policies and the funding and grants available to support circular innovation.
The event concluded with an impactful reverse pitching session from our fantastic supporters: ASTUTE, Business Wales, Community Foundation Wales, Development Bank of Wales, the Natural Products BioHUB and WRAP. If you’re looking to get in contact with any of the pitchers, drop us a message for an introduction.
On behalf of the ARCS team, I would once again like to thank everyone who attended and for all of those who have supported us over the last year! We hope this is not the end of ARCS, so keep updated on our next steps through our social channels over the coming weeks...
