Swansea University holds the European Commission HR Excellence in Research Award in recognition of our commitment to support the Career Development of Research Staff.

The award was first attained by the University in 2010 and renewed in January 2013, January 2015, January 2017 and June 2019. It recognises our commitment to support the Career Development of Research Staff, including our implementation of the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Research Staff. SWANSEA UNIVERSITY RESEARCH STAFF WORKING GROUP (RSWG)

The RSWG is chaired by Professor Perumal Nithiarasu, Director of Research and Institutional Academic lead for Research Impact, and includes research staff from each Faculty (nominated by Heads of Faculty/Directors of Research), and members from Human Resources, Swansea Employability Academy (SEA), Research Engagement & Innovation Services (REIS), Information Services and Systems and UCU (Trade Union).

Reporting into the Committee for Research and Innovation Strategy (CRIS), it oversees the delivery of the Concordat Action Plan, to support the Career Development of Researchers.
