The Equality Team at Swansea University are holding a number of events to celebrate Black History Month.
The events aim to increase awareness of Black History month and disseminate information about the Race Charter Mark. They also provide an opportunity for solution-seeking for staff, students and members of the community, asking what the key challenges are for us as an institution in terms of race equality and what the key solutions may be.
The latest in a series of Race Equality Forums will take place on 27 October in the College of Law, (Richard Price Building Foyer) at 12pm until 3pm.
On 28 October, at 4pm in JC’s Bar, there will be a Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) Employability Talk given by South Wales Police including details of the initiative to recruit more Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) staff. The talk will be followed by a Q&A about breaking down barriers between the BME community and the police force, encouraging more people to apply.
Please direct any questions about the event to Misbha Khanum, Equality Officer at firstname.lastname@example.org or your contact within your department.
