Successful graduate goes from China to Slovakia via Swansea

Graduate Min Zhu has achieved her life ambition of teaching in Europe with the help of Swansea University’s English Language Training Services.

After obtaining a merit for her MA TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Degree, Min went on to study for the Cambridge CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) qualification with Swansea University’s English Language Training Services (ELTS).

Having successfully obtained her degree and her CELTA qualification, Min has now secured a job with a Slovakian language school, to teach both English and Mandarin.

Min is originally from east of China – a small city near Shanghai. She comes from a very close family and has an older sister.

 

Min used to work at the largest private educational agency in China – New Oriental Education & Technology group Inc. Teaching IELTS, SSAT and SAT from July 2010 to June 2013. Min started the MA TEFL course at Swansea University from Sept 2013 to September 2014 followed by the CELTA course. Min graduated from Swansea University in October 2014 and was presented with her degree at the January 2015 ceremony. Min will be moving to Slovakia in March to take up her teaching position.
