The achievements of more than 1,200 undergraduate and postgraduate students will be celebrated this week, at Swansea University’s Winter Degree and Award Congregations on Thursday, January 24 and Friday, January 25.

GraduationThe Winter Congregations, for students who have successfully completed their studies since July 2012, will take place at the City and County of Swansea’s Grand Theatre. Students will be joined by their families and friends, University officials, academic staff, representatives of the Students’ Union, civic officers and local dignitaries.

The degrees and awards will be received by students from the College of Arts and Humanities, College of Engineering, Department of Adult Continuing Education, and the College of Business, Economics and Law on Thursday and by students from the College of Human and Health Sciences, College of Medicine and College of Science on Friday.

Professor Alan Speight, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Student Experience and Academic Quality Enhancement at Swansea University, said: “Swansea is a great place to study and students who come here from all over the world become part of an ambitious, research-led institution with top quality teaching, with one of the best student experiences available.

“Our Degree and Award Congregations allow us to recognise publicly the high level of commitment and hard work demonstrated by our students, which has enabled them to achieve the qualifications and higher level skills required to pursue a fulfilling and rewarding career and achieve their personal ambitions.

“I would like to congratulate each and every one of our students receiving an award at this year’s Winter Congregations and wish them every success as they progress in their chosen field.”
