We’re behind the Swans for Wembley!

As Swansea City prepare for their Wembley Cup Final against Bradford, they have the good wishes of the University behind them. Many of our staff and students will be amongst the estimated 35,000 Swansea fans in the stadium, with lots more following the game on television.

We're proud of our various links with the Club, which you can find out about by following these links:

Honorary Fellow - Huw Jenkins, Chairman of Swansea City, was made an honorary fellow  of the University in 2012

Fairwood playing fields -  In 2012 the University signed a deal with the Swans to develop our playing fields into Premier League-standard facilities, for use by Swansea City and University teams.

Swans100 project - , based in our history department, is exploring, conserving and celebrating the heritage of Swansea City FC, in partnership with the Swansea City Supporters’ Trust.

Behind the Swans is where we were - quite literally - in their stunning semi-final win against Chelsea, the European champions.

The football factor - we know too that there has been an increase in interest in coming to Swansea from potential students in some parts of the world, thanks to the popularity of the Premier League.

Win, lose or draw at Wembley, the club and the team, riding high in the Premier League, are doing Swansea proud!
