Swansea University will bestow nine Honorary Degrees on figures of outstanding merit who have special significance to Swansea during this year’s Graduation ceremonies (Monday 16 July – Friday 20 July).

The nine recipients are listed at http://www.swansea.ac.uk/graduation/honoraryawards

Swansea University's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Richard B Davies said:

“Graduation week is our chanc/e to celebrate the successes of our graduates, but it is also a time when we are able to recognise those individuals who have made such immense contributions to the region, to Wales, and beyond and inaugurate them as Honorary Fellows of the University.

“Honorary Fellows are an integral part of Graduation, not only because they epitomise excellence and dedication in their fields but also because they provide such inspiration for our students.

“This year marks a proud milestone for the University: for the first time this year, we have the agreement of the Senate of the University to confer Swansea University Honorary Degrees on these individuals.

“We are delighted this year to be able to honour celebrated figures from the realms of politics, culture, science and sport, and to welcome them into our illustrious Honorary Fellowship.”
