This year’s Bafta Cymru Award Ceremony held at Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff proved to be a successful night for Honorary Fellow of Swansea University, Lowri Morgan who came away with two awards.

The popular Gowerton-born television presenter won the award for Best Presenter for S4C’s Ras yn Erbyn Amser (Race Against Time). The same programme also received the award for Best Factual Series.

Lowri Morgan Honorary Award

Ras yn Erbyn Amser followed Lowri’s journey and intense training regime as she competed in the extreme Arctic Ultra 6633 race last year. She was the only person to cross the finish line, and is one of only six ever to complete the achievement.

Lowri is certainly no stranger to extreme challenges. In the past pushed herself to the very limit by completing seven marathon races and two iron man triathlon races as well as the gruelling 222km race through the heart of the Amazon jungle in 2009.

Earlier this year, Lowri attended a private reception with the Queen for acknowledgement of services to adventure and exploration.
