Open Quantum Neural Networks: from Fundamental Concepts to Implementations with Atoms and Photons

The overarching goal of this theoretical research programme is to establish and explore a conceptual framework for quantum neural networks and identify quantum optical physical building blocks, based on concepts in the domain of open many-body quantum systems. Thereby, it aims at laying the foundation for quantum neuromorphic engineering of a new generation of quantum neural hardware in state-of-the-art and newly emerging experimental systems.
