Women in Medicine and Science (WIMS)

Swansea University Medical School has become the first department within the University to achieve an Equality Challenge Unit (ECU) Athena SWAN Charter Silver award.

In agreement with the new Athena SWAN charter, WIMS aims to provide opportunities for all academic, professional and support staff and students (UG;PGT;PGR) to network informally whilst learning more about University policies and procedures.

Sessions will run monthly on a Wednesday afternoon between 2.00-3.00pm in ILS1 and comprise a programme of workshops (internal and external speakers) covering many areas relating to career progression (e.g. promotions, mentoring, CV workshops), University policies (e.g. flexible working & family friendly policies) and work-life skills (e.g. assertiveness, confidence building, life coaching).

All staff and students are welcome, regardless of grade or position.
