Welcome to the GDL at the School of Law! Here's some useful information before you join us. 

GDL Welcome Talk

10am Thursday 6th Sep, Conference Room, Richard Price Building with a welcome lunch at 12pm.


Due to the bank holiday, students will now be able to enrol online for the GDL from 9am on 28th August 2018.

To access online enrolment please log in to your student intranet account and follow the on screen instructions. Further details on how to enrol are available online.

It is vital to read the following before the course starts on 6th September:

Seminar 1 – Thursday 6th September: The Courts - GDL induction Seminar
Please read the section of the Legal Systems & Skills set text book on ‘The Court system of England & Wales’. Please ensure that you spend adequate time preparing in order that you are able to become meaningfully involved in the discussion.
(If you have any queries on areas relating to these topics you are encouraged to note them and raise them during the session.)

Anglo-Welsh legal system
This gives an overview of the way in which law ‘works’, together with an appreciation of a variety of legal skills, and provides useful guidance on how to study law, from using legal texts to assessment preparation. 

European Union Law
This will will introduce the institutions and law of the EU.

Payment of course fees

  • Pay your course fees in full at enrolment 
  • Make four equal payments in September, November, January and a final payment in April.
