The College Makes Its Mark Down Under

A member of the College and the IISTL, Professor Andrew Tettenborn, today addressed a high-profile conference on “Private Law in the 21st Century” organised by the University of Queensland's influential TC Beirne Law School.

Tettenborn (S)Andrew's paper, delivered by invitation, was on the subject of the common law right of a contractor to suspend its own performance on account of non-performance by the counterparty. Speakers at the event, held over two days in Brisbane and a major marker in the Commonwealth private law calendar, included Professors Henry Smith of Harvard, Andrew Burrows of Oxford, Hanoch Dagan of Tel Aviv and Prue Vines of the University of New South Wales.
