IISTL Event in London on Air Law

The Institute of International Shipping and Trade Law (IISTL) joined forces with the Legal Committee of the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) to organise a seminar on risk allocation in aviation contracts.

leloudasThe seminar will be held on the 26thJanuary 2016 at the premises of RAeS in London. The Legal Committee of the RAeS comprises of the crème de la crème of the aviation legal community in the UK and our collaboration is a testament to the increasing strength of the IISTL on air law matters. A wide variety of speakers have confirmed their participation, ranging from solicitors to barristers and in-house lawyers from four different jurisdictions. The seminar aims to ignite debate on a topic that has not been academically developed in aviation, despite its practical importance, namely the channelling of risks to air carriers in contracts for the supply of aircraft and services. As such, the event will be followed by the publication of an edited book by Informa Law from Routledge.

Dr George Leloudas, who is the head organiser of this event and editor of the book which will be published afterwards, commented: “This event is the result of the increasing attention that the IISTL pays on air law and a unique opportunity to showcase our aviation capabilities in the heart of the international aviation market. I expect the event to be well attended and heated debates to take place.”
