We offer practice-oriented LLM programmes in the field of commercial and maritime law and enjoy, especially through the links established by the Institute of International Shipping and Trade Law, close connections with the City law firms.
This could yield benefits our LLM students and this summer two of our students had internship opportunity at Ince & Co, a leading international commercial law firm that serves a global clientele from offices across Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
Sagun Sudhir, who originally hails from India, commented on his experience at Ince & Co:
“I thoroughly enjoyed my amazing work experience at Ince & Co. Working closely with Ted Graham, Partner at Ince & Co., I got an invaluable exposure of how a top law firm functions. During my internship, I assisted the dry shipping team with an advice concerning a cargo claim and possibility of recovering it under the Inter-Club Agreement.”
Miss Hao WU, who came to Swansea University after completing her LLB at Shanghai Maritime University, also enjoyed the internship opportunity and described it as an “unbelievable expereince”. She also indicated that the internship opportunity allowed her to see first-hand how practical teaching at Swansea has been during her studies. She concluded by saying that “Coming to Swansea was absolutely the right decision.”
