The annual IP Wales Award is bestowed to the student with the best performance in our Law of Intellectual Assets Management and Transactions module. This year (2018), the prize has been awarded to LLM in Intellectual Property and Commercial Practice student Florin Popa.
Associate Professor Andrew Beale OBE, Director of IP Wales noted: “We are delighted that Florin is this year’s worthy recipient of our IP Wales Prize.
“In line with many of our previous winners Florin’s international background and commitment to hard work has stood him in good stead when studying how best to use intellectual property law in the global market place.”
Speaking about his win, Florin said: “I am deeply grateful for having had the opportunity to pursue an LLM in Intellectual Property and Commercial Practice at Swansea University, which has allowed me to take my first steps in a highly specialised and complex field of law, under the guidance of Professor Beale
“The programme was challenging, but rewarding, and exciting at the same time, and I have gained valuable knowledge from the best specialists in their field. I was also able to meet and exchange ideas with inspiring colleagues from all around the world, building strong friendships throughout the year
“I would like to extend my most sincere thanks to IP Wales for selecting me as the recipient of this prestigious prize, which has strengthened my confidence in pursuing a career in this field.”
