Recognising the absence of any national moot competition focusing on commercial/maritime law, our College under the supervision of the Postgraduate legal Studies Department is hosting a Mooting Competition that will be held on 21-23 June 2014.
The competition has already proven a success attracting 10 teams from around the country, as well as a wide range of arbitrators, solicitors, academics and market experts all specialising in the field of transport law. The initial rounds of the competition will be held the weekend of the 21st June at the College of Law at Swansea. The final will be held on Monday, 23rd June at the Parliament Chamber and Queen's Room of the Middle Temple in London and will be judged by a mix of barristers from 7 King’s Bench Walk and a member of the judiciary.
Dr. George Leloudas, the moot coordinator, noted: “ We are excited to host the first moot competition of its kind at Swansea and we are delighted to see so many teams coming over. All of them have worked really hard in the immediate aftermath of their examination period and we expect it to be a highly competitive, yet enjoyable event for all participants. I would also like to extend a warm thank you to our sponsors, 7 King’s Bench Walk and Informa. Their contribution has been invaluable and without their support this competition would have never taken off”
