On 4 March 2015, the College of Law hosted its sixth annual law Career Fair which was attended by current PGT students and level 3 LLB Students.
The event enabled students to meet representatives from a number of organisations to discuss recruitment opportunities. This year’s event attracted a number of local and International legal firms including Eversheds, Peter Lynn Solicitors, Graham Evans and Partners Solicitors, Holman Fenwick LLP, Ince and Co, The Britannia Steam Ship Insurance just to name a few who gave valuable advice to our students on the recruitment process.
Representatives from the firms commented that they found our students to be well prepared and informed of the job opportunities available in the market. Following the event Dale Hammond from Britannia Steam Ship Insurance Association Limited commented that “As usual, the Career Fair was very well organised and we were able to meet many good quality LLM students. We find the Fair to be an excellent and convenient way of getting to know a large number of people who will be entering the shipping job market in the near future and assessing which of them could be cut out for a career in the P&I sector.”
Peter Lynn –Senior Partner at Peter Lynn Solicitors said that “we are delighted to support the university and its undergraduates in a number of ways –the careers fair is a fantastic opportunity for the students to network with local and national employers and for us employers to have a look at the local talent available and give top tips on what we are looking for.”
