TEAM ALLOCATION FOR 2021 EVENT

In order to address the different time zones which will be represented at the competition, the following procedures will apply:

  1. All times stated on the website will be based on British Summer Time (BST), being the time zone of the host University in the United Kingdom.

  2. After registration is finalised, all teams will be allocated to one of two groups based on their time zone, seeking approximately the same number of teams in each group. The red group will include teams that are ahead of British Summer Time (BST) including, for example, New Zealand. The blue group will include teams that are behind British Summer Time (BST) including, for example, the United States of America.

  3. Teams in the red group will, for the first four days of the event, begin their schedule at 7.00 British Summer Time (BST) to ensure that the competition takes place for those teams at a reasonable time.

  4. Teams in the blue group will, for the first four days of the event, begin their schedule at 15.00 British Summer Time (BST) to ensure that the competition takes place for those teams at a reasonable time.

  5. For the semi-finals and the finals, the organisers will use reasonable endeavours to ensure equity between the teams in their appearance schedules, while also needing to ensure that the teams compete in close proximity to each other in order to facilitate judging.
