Family Friendly Leave Arrangements
In accordance with our commitment towards a good work-life balance for staff, the University has a variety of family-friendly policies that provide flexible working arrangements and leave for those with parental responsibilities.
Below are some of the working arrangements in place to help you.
Maternity Leave
Expectant mothers have access to maternity pay in accordance with the the University's maternity policy. For guidance and entitlement on maternity leave provision and pay please see further information about Maternity Leave
Paternity/Partner Leave
Fathers or partners can take a period of paternity leave on full pay. Paternity/partner leave is for 2 weeks, but can only be taken in a block of 1 or 2 weeks. For more information on paternity/partner leave, eligibility and entitlement please see our Paternity/Partner Leave page
Shared Parental Leave
If your baby is due after 5/4/15 or you adopt a child after this date, you and your partner will be entitled to share 52 weeks parental leave during the first year. You may be entitled to shared parental pay for some or all of the leave you wish to take. Parental Leave
Parental leave offers qualifying parents the right to take unpaid time off work to look after their child or make arrangements for their welfare. For more information please see our guide to Parental Leave

Adoption/Surrogacy Leave

Time Off for Care of Dependants
The University is committed to providing flexible working arrangements for staff that may need time off to deal with unforeseen circumstances or emergencies involving a dependant.
