Strategic Equality Plan 2020-2024 Consultation Form
Swansea University is in the process of developing its Strategic Equality Plan 2020-2024. This will not only help us to fulfil our Public Sector Equality Duty to promote equality but that it would also fully support the achievement of our vision and mission as a University.
The Strategic Equality Plan covers the following ‘protected characteristics’, which now come under the Equality Act 2010.
- Sexual orientation
- Religion and Belief
- Pregnancy and maternity
- Marriage and Civil partnerships
- Gender reassignment
We are committed to ensuring that our Strategic Equality Plan is outcome-focused: that is, we want to ensure that it genuinely helps promote equality and good relations between different groups of staff and students and that it helps to ensure that discrimination and harassment are eliminated at the University.
The aim of the Strategic Equality Plan is to embed the principles of equality, diversity, respect and fair treatment into all that we do.
Therefore, we would now like to gather feedback. We hope that you will take this opportunity to become involved in the development of the Plan, and thus have a real input into the equality goals, outcomes and actions for the University for the period 2020-2024.
Please, could you spare a few minutes to complete the short questionnaire below to help facilitate this? The feedback you provide may be reflective of your own experiences, or others you know. Please bear in mind the protected characteristics mentioned above, when providing feedback. If you do not have an opinion about particular protected characteristic, please give feedback on what you are happy to provide.
