Women in Universities Mentoring Scheme (WUMS)

Swansea University is proudly part of the Women in Universities Mentoring Scheme (WUMS), which is a unique project of its kind for Wales.  

WUMS is an exciting and dynamic scheme that aims to support the professional development of female staff working in Welsh universities through a system of professional mentoring. WUMS aims to provide female staff with access to a mentor who can give valuable advice and encouragement and assist in formulating a strategy to help the mentee develop their professional skills and abilities, address learning and development needs and identify and achieve their career ambitions. 

The scheme is open to all female members of staff working in the Higher Education sector, including all academic, research, technical, manual, support and administrative staff.
