Nnadi Emmanuel Ebuka - MSc. Public Health and Health Promotion

Swansea University offers a combination of Public Health and Health Promotion, which is a unique combination, needed to meet my career objectives.

Public health and health promotion is a unique combination of relevant subjects, which aims to study the health of the population, putting into consideration, the social determinants of health and how they influence the health of the population.

Swansea University has a very good student support system, which makes it feel like a home away from home.

Mohamed Felaya - LLB Law

I chose Swansea University for many reasons and I am glad that I chose Swansea University in the end. The first reason was basically that not many universities provide the senior status LLB program and that was something special about Swansea University that they provide all programmes and degrees.

Secondly, I would like to mention the second point which was the high ranking of Swansea University and actually Swansea University is in the top 25 universities in the UK for Law and it's ranked top ten in the UK for student satisfaction. Thirdly, the fact that the structure of the degree would allow me to have optional modules in the second year that was something I was really looking for because it gives me a lot of opportunities and options that I can have a more focused approach in my studies and in certain areas of law. The fourth reason for me to choose Swansea University was the wide range of extracurricular activities and that was really fascinating. I am currently participating in more than five competitions, the Law Society, the Bar society and I am that subject representative for first year law students.

Absolutely! I couldn’t be more satisfied with my experience here at Swansea University. And I am glad that I chose Swansea University as my first choice.

My highlight at Swansea University is the multicultural ambiance, the beach just opposite the university, the various facilities available to ensure student get the best of curricular and extracurricular activities. The friendly nature of the Swansea community and also the interesting nature of the course I am studying.

Some specific support and facilities I have found useful as an International student are; The Centre for Academic Success: Being an international student with virtually less experience in academic writing, the Centre for Academic Success with their composition of highly experienced, qualified and friendly staffs was always available to improve my writing, communication, and study skills through their various courses and one-on-one meetings. This accorded me with the knowledge, confidence, and support towards writing my assessment and adapting to the high level of academic standard in the university.

Clubs and societies: The university has an array of club and societies for one to join. Joining a club or society provides a platform to meet new friends and share various skills. The clubs and societies range from academic, sports, social and cultural activities.

Yang ZhengRui - BSc Accounting and Finance

After researching other Universities and courses, I found that Swansea was my best option.  The 2 plus 2 programme with Nanchang Aerospace University was a path which I really wanted to explore.  I also found out from alumni that the employability rate at Swansea is great, and the reputation of the University is outstanding.  I also had a few friends who attended Swansea already, through them I learnt a bit more about Swansea, and everything made me really excited to come and study in the UK.  This all made me work towards the 2 plus 2 programme as soon as I started my first year at Nanchang Aerospace University.

This semester I am studying accounting, finance, management and financial markets.  My favourite module is accounting, this profession requires a lot of attention to detail which helps me develop logical and critical thinking skills.  Not only have I learnt tonnes of academic knowledge, but it’s also made me a more well-rounded student.

Swansea is also incredible beautiful, this is one of my favourite part of living here.  Meeting friends by the sea, exercising by the beach etc, life outside of studying is very relaxing and enjoyable.  Not to mention traveling in the city is also very convenient.

Siddarth Sumod Damodar - MA Sports Journalism, Communication and PR

It was one of my main options due to the reputation of the media department and the interesting and unique manner in which the course was structured. I was also very satisfied with how comfortable and quickly I was able to settle in.

The postgraduate degree is an extrapolation of the media undergraduate course, with a strong focus on sports communications and management. I have always been interested in sports management, and this degree allows me to further explore the skills I gained over the last three years and implement it in situations related to my ideal career.

I often go back to my sixth form college back home and speak about Swansea University in the hopes that I will have some of my former school alumni follow me here and experience how great it is for themselves.

Elena Tsirigoti from Greece - MSc Abnormal and Clinical Psychology

I chose the MSc in Abnormal and Clinical Psychology at Swansea University as the course content was very appealing. I liked the focus on mental health disorders, and the cost of living/fees was also an important factor.

This course has helped advance my career as I was able to find a job and my qualifications were recognised abroad. It also provided a good basis to later develop my research and therapeutic skills at work and on other courses.

I would definitely recommend Swansea University to other students as I found the lecturers very supportive as well as the additional learning needs team. The city and the beach are also great!

Meshari Almalki from Saudi Arabia - MSc Healthcare Management

I chose Swansea University as I have wanted to be a teacher since I was a boy - I found that this Healthcare Management Master's was the best programme with lots of variety.

A highlight of my time studying has been the help from the University's Academic Success Programme (ASP). It was so useful, teaching me how to write in an academic way. Also, the friends that I've made on the programme have been so helpful, theyve given me so much knowledge about life.

Swansea University occupies a beautiful spot on the beach, it has new buildings and the way of teaching is excellent. There is a mutual respect between students and teachers.
