A team of paint splattered student nurses from Swansea University’s College of Human and Health Sciences have raised over £500 for Ty Hafan by completing the 5 Km Rainbow Run this September on Pendine Beach, Carmarthenshire.
Team members Naar Sreeram, Emma Parsley, Ellen Stables, Clair Smart, Louise Sieuw, Jacqueline Gent, Nicky Worth, Heidi Salvador and Estelle Williams all study Adult Nursing at the St David’s Park Campus in Carmarthen.
Keen runner, Estelle Williams, organised the small but determined team of eight. She said: “We all had a lot of fun while raising over £500 for Ty Hafan, a charity that provides specialist one to one care & an outreach service to life limited children, young people and their families.
“This organisation is not NHS funded, only 4% is received in statutory funding so to enable this invaluable charity to continue Ty Hafan need to raise over £4 million to sustain their life changing work & services.
“We all hope to continue fund raising when possible in the future, proudly representing Swansea University.”
