Staff from the College of Human and Health Sciences participated in Swansea University’s Swansea Academy of Learning and Teaching (SALT) Conference this month.

Several members of staff gave presentations, led workshops or submitted posters to the conference, which was held in the Taliesin Arts Centre on 2nd July.

Two members of staff received awards, Sharon Harvey won the Excellence in Learning and Teaching Award (ELTA) and Izzy Phillips won the Excellence in Student Support Award (ESSA).

Sharon is a Senior Lecturer, Programme Director for the Education for Health Professions MA and the Lead for critical care within the College while Izzy works at the Saint David’s Park (SDP) Library in Carmarthen.

One of the nominations received for Izzy said: “Izzy always has a smile and a word or two of encouragement for every student.  She’s always willing to listen to our worries over assignments.  I don’t know what the SDP students would do without her.”

Ceri Phillips, Head of the College of Human and Health Sciences said: “Congratulations to Sharon and Izzy. Thanks also to those members of staff who contributed posters to the conference to highlight the good work that is being undertaken to enhance the student learning experience.”
