A member of staff at Swansea University’s College of Human and Health Sciences is going the extra mile for a good cause when she runs the Llanelli Half Marathon next month.
Megan Rosser, Director of Engagement, is raising money for Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP), a charity that works for the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees.
Megan, who has previously completed the London Marathon and the Great North Run, now runs socially with friends and was inspired to take part after a Pilgrimage to the Holy Land in April 2015.
She said: “I saw first-hand the injustice that exists in Palestine and the inhumane ways the Palestinian people are treated in their homeland. It had a profound effect on me and I felt compelled to do something to help so decided to raise money for Medical Aid for Palestinians through sponsorship.”
The Llanelli Half Marathon takes place on 13th March, starts and ends at Parc y Scarlets Stadium and follows a route around Llanelli’s waterside.
Megan added: “I am old enough to know better but keep trying!”
