Jonkoping IT Technicians visit the College of Human and Health Sciences

The College of Human and Health Sciences has welcomed a team of IT Technicians from Jonkoping University, Sweden.

During their visit, IT Technicians, Karina Wahlström and David Lundgren spent time work shadowing IT teams from the College and the wider University and learnt about several University initiatives, including the Swansea Employability Academy and the Swansea Academy of Learning and Teaching. They were also treated to a tour of the facilities on both Singleton and the Bay Campus.

Glen Donnachie, Media and IT Support Manager at Swansea University supported the visit. He said: “Hosting visitors from another institution is something we hadn’t done for a long time, but reassuringly it very quickly became clear that it was a valuable exercise. The similarities between Jönköping and Swansea helped establish common ground, and the differences allowed us to share knowledge, experience and advice. Our visitors were a credit to their University, and did an excellent job of promoting their home city too – we look forward to arranging a visit hopefully next year!”

Gareth Davey, Internationalisation Officer at the College of Human and Health Sciences added: “The College have worked in partnership with Jonkoping University for 25 years, primarily focused on the exchange of Nursing students.  It is a pleasure to develop the partnership further by welcoming staff from the IT Team to Swansea.  I look forward to working closer with Jonkoping University to evolve the partnership into further areas of collaboration.”
