Over the summer, the College of Human and Health Sciences welcomed a group of visiting students from China and Hong Kong, who participated in a full programme of study, cultural and social activities as part of the annual International Summer Programme organised by the College.
International Summer Programme group (2017)
The fourteen visiting undergraduate students who signed up for the 2 week programme had the opportunity to gain a taster of Healthcare Education in Swansea University, how different types of Health and Wellbeing are integrated throughout our Health Services and to experience life in Swansea.
Students participated in sessions with 4 of the College Departments; (Nursing, Psychology, Interprofessional Studies, Public Health, Policy and Social Sciences), which included sample lectures and a tour of the College of Human and Health Sciences interactive labs and advice session on careers in Psychology.
The students also participated in a number of English language sessions and had the opportunity to take part in host of activities including visits to St Fagans, Cardiff and the Gower peninsula.
“It has been a pleasure meeting such enthusiastic students from our partners in China and Hong Kong. It’s been amazing to see their confidence grow over the 2-weeks, and the feedback from them and our faculty has been overwhelmingly positive. I hope that we can continue to develop this programme in the future, and build on the success of this year. “ Gareth Davey, Internationalisation Officer, College of Human and Health Sciences
