Dr. Mr Ikali Karvinen, Dr. Elsa Keskitalo, Dr. Arja Koski, Dr. Pekka Launonen and Dr. Päivi Vuokila-Oikkonen spent a week in Wales during September, taking part in a two day programme of seminars at the college before heading to Cardiff for a visit to the Senedd.

Lynne Walsh, Senior Lecturer in Mental Health & Public Health, coordinated the visit. She said: “The Finnish academic’s visit was arranged through Erasmus. They linked up with the Department of Public Health in the College of Human and Health Sciences, who promoted their research, teaching and learning.  A variety of colleagues took part in the visit, building crucial links and networks for potential future research.”

“While at the Senedd, the group met the chair of the Health and Social Care Committee, Dave Rees AM and had the opportunity to ask questions.

“We are hoping to have a return visit to Finland to promote research and teaching links.”
