Three undergraduate students from Swansea University’s College of Human and Health Sciences have travelled to Chongqing Medical University (CQMU) in China to take part in a two week study and culture tour.
Nursing student Danielle Kinsman, Social Policy student Denise Thyer and Osteopathy student Zeanne Thomas are currently taking cultural tours of Chongqing, spending time with Chinese families and studying a range of subjects including acupuncture and traditional Chinese massage.
Cecilia Wu, Internationalisation Manager for the College of Human and Health Sciences said: “The Chongqing Medical University study and culture tour is a great opportunity for our students to broaden their horizons by experiencing another culture while learning new skills that will benefit their studies at Swansea University and their future careers too."
Danielle Kinsman was successful in securing a £500 bursary from the College’s Department of Nursing to enable her to make the trip to China.
She said: "I'm a third year adult nursing student due to graduate in August. I am incredibly excited at the opportunity to experience healthcare on a global scale and in a very diverse country."
Look out for more from the students who visited China when they return to Wales next week.
