Miss Yue Chen and Miss Zhan Shu from Chongqing Medical University (CQMU) and Mrs Li Li and Mrs Yang Qiu from North Sichuan Medical College (NSMC) will spend six weeks within the college attending a range of lectures in Nursing, Gerontology and Ageing Studies, Child Public Health, Healthcare Management, Academic Success Programmes and English Language. They will also visit Morriston and Singleton Hospitals and Awel yr Mor Care Home during their stay in Swansea.
The group has already met with several key members of College staff, including Professor John Gammon, Deputy Head of the College of Human and Health Sciences, Senior Nursing Lecturer David Gallimore and Dr Jayne Cutter, Head of the Department of Nursing.
Dr Jayne Cutter said: “Last week I was delighted to meet with 4 representatives from North Sichuan Medical College and Chongqing Medical University.
“During the visit, we had an interesting discussion on the similarities and differences between our undergraduate nursing degrees. We also explored the potential for students from the North Sichuan Medical College to come and undertake doctoral studies at Swansea.
“This visit has opened up several exciting possibilities for collaborative working between our Colleges and I look forward to meeting the delegates later in their stay to see how they are getting on. I hope that we will be able to further strengthen our relationship with the College leading to the possibility of student and staff exchanges in the future.”
